About Studio Duglas
Hi, I’m Mari-Liis - the designer and photographer behind Studio Duglas!
While James and I work together on weddings, Studio Duglas is where I bring together the rest of my creative work: graphic design and portrait photography.
Since 2020, I’ve worked as an in-house designer and media officer, shaping brand systems, campaigns, editorial pieces, and digital content within a community setting. I recently completed an MA in Graphic Design at Falmouth University, which deepened my love for brand identity, typography, and thoughtful visual storytelling.
My work often sits at the intersection of design and community - exploring how visual identity and storytelling can strengthen connection, clarify purpose, and bring people together.
In 2023, my MA project Pet Connect was shortlisted for the Creative Conscience Awards. The app prototype connected isolated elderly people with local pet owners for companionship and shared experience - a project that reflects my belief that design can be both practical and deeply human.
Alongside design, portrait photography feels like a natural extension of my work. I’m drawn to capturing people as they are - moments of connection, character, and quiet confidence.

Graphic Design
I see design as both craft and communication - a way to clarify ideas, shape identity, and build visual systems that feel cohesive and lasting.
With an MA in Graphic Design (Distinction) and several years of in-house experience, I’ve worked across brand identities, editorial design, campaign systems, typography-led projects, print production, and digital content.
My approach combines concept development, exploration, and careful refinement. Whether developing a long-term identity, designing a publication, or shaping a campaign, I’m drawn to work that feels considered, purposeful, and built to last.

Portrait Photography
Portrait photography, for me, is about presence rather than performance.
I create relaxed, natural sessions where people feel comfortable enough to be themselves. Whether you’re marking a milestone, creating imagery for your brand, or simply capturing a moment in time, my focus is on honest expression and meaningful connection.
No forced poses. No pressure. Just thoughtful, timeless imagery.
